- In our busy and hectic lives, it’s easy to overlook the miracle of pregnancy and childbirth. From the moment I entered Isis Maternity’s little studio to the day my son and I graduated from our New Moms group in the expanded center, I was constantly reminded how miraculous this experience is. Isis not only provided the support I needed to have a successful pregnancy, it also helped me have a successful birth, become a successful breast-feeder and ultimately, be a nurturing mother to my son. The best word I can use to describe Isis Maternity is “supportive”. Nobody laughs at your silly questions, they know just what to say when the tears are flowing, and they are the first to applaud when you succeed. Parenthood is indeed miraculous, but it’s also scary, overwhelming and challenging; Isis addresses every part of the experience.

- This is a long overdue thank you note to Nancy (Holtzman), who basically saved my life on Christmas Eve 2003. Our son was a week old, nursing was not going well at all, I was in constant pain and ready to give up. I had taken four prenatal classes at Isis Maternity and loved them all, so at 9am, I called. Nancy was there and told us to come in. We jumped in the car (as fast as new parents can with a newborn!) and headed for Isis. Nancy helped me reposition the baby so that nursing was much more comfortable. She had us call the doctor’s office for a prescription for APNO cream and then called the pharmacy for us to make sure they had what we needed. She was encouraging, sympathetic and professional all at the same time. I continued to nurse and pump until he was six months old, and I feel great that I did not give up that December 24th morning. Nancy made all of the difference. At his six month check up, our son weighed in at a whopping 22lbs, 12 ozs. A health, bouncing baby boy. Thank you, Nancy.
