Does Isis Maternity have a specific philosophy? We are dedicated to supporting new families. We will provide you with accurate information that will enable you to work with your medical provider to make informed choices for what is best for you and your family.
Are groups and classes covered by insurance? Insurance coverage for prenatal education classes varies widely depending on health plan and on the benefits provided by an employer. While many plans will provide partial reimbursement for some educational expenses, few plans cover the entire cost of a class. Isis Maternity will provide you the documentation needed (certificate of completion, receipt of payment) for you to submit a claim to your insurance company after your class is complete. Please remember to save your Isis Maternity payment receipt that you receive when you register for classes. We encourage you to contact your insurance company directly if you have any questions.
Can I bring my baby to class? All of our postpartum yoga and fitness classes welcome non-mobile babies. Some classes include baby stretches and massage and others bring the babies into the exercise routine. We try to be as flexible and adaptive as we can be. Most prenatal classes are designed for first-time parents who have not had their baby yet.
Should my husband/partner attend Breastfeeding Basics and Newborn Essentials with me? Partners are strongly encouraged to attend Breastfeeding Basics and Newborn Essentials. However, if you need come without your partner you will likely not be the only one. Please feel free to bring someone instead of a partner like a sister or another support person.
What is your relationship with Brigham and Women’s Hospital? We work closely with Brigham and Women’s Hospital to provide services to those who deliver their babies there. However, we are an independently owned and operated center.
Do I have to be delivering at BWH to take classes at Isis Maternity? Absolutely not. We welcome all families to our classes, no matter where they’re welcoming their babies.
