Lactation Consultations
We are committed to supporting mothers who wish to breastfeed their babies but who may require special assistance or instruction. A Lactation Consultant, or LC, is a health care professional who provides education, support and guidance when challenging breastfeeding situations occur. The Lactation Consultant stays in close contact with both mom and her Care Provider while providing feeding assistance in order to monitor baby’s weight gain and breastfeeding success. By offering private consultation with a board certified Lactation Consultant, Isis Maternity can help with feeding plans to increase milk supply or supplement baby, provide breast feeding supplies to aid in latch-on, or assist with pumping until mom and baby are successfully breastfeeding.
Depending on the individual insurance plan, consult clients may be eligible for more than one postpartum visit with a Lactation Consultant. Reimbursement paperwork and filing instructions provided for every Consult appointment.

- Initial consult: $110
- Prenatal consult or follow-up: $45

Insurance-Covered Breastpumps at Isis Maternity
Isis Maternity partners with Centralized Medical Equipment, LLC (CME) to serve clients whose health insurance covers all or part of their breastpump purchse or rental. Check with your healthplan to see if your policy covers breastpumps then call or visit our Needham location to complete the short pre-approval process. If you are eligible, you’ll receive a high quality Medela breastpump that same day. We’ll walk you through the process and CME will manage all of the paperwork and details remotely, on your behalf. CME accepts most major insurance plans (see list below) but you must go through the pre-approval process before finalizing your breastpump choice. Each health policy uses different criteria to determine with your physician who may be eligible to qualify, and the type of pump(s) they will cover. Of course, Isis Maternity sells and rents top quality pumps to clients who pay directly as well.
