Yoga Instructors

Job Summary:

The yoga instructor teaches a mix of beginner, intermediate, and advanced yoga techniques to clients in one or two formats – either Prenatal Yoga for pregnant women, or Mom & Baby Yoga for new mothers with infants 0 to 8 months (pre-crawling). Students attend class sessions on a drop-in basis. While there is some flexibility in the design and curriculum of the class, class sessions focus on stretching, strength building and other areas of interest to the student base. Class size varies and can be up to 20 students depending on classroom capacity. Classes are held at all three of our locations in Brookline, Arlington and Needham. All instructors are on a substitute list in the event of another instructor’s absence.

The Yoga Instructor will be responsible for:

  • Teaching weekday, evening, and/or weekend yoga classes in one or several of our locations.
  • Welcoming new and returning students to Isis Maternity; making them feel safe and comfortable.
  • Providing a safe and creative yoga curriculum, challenging students while encouraging a healthy, supportive, and non-competitive atmosphere.
  • Being familiar with other Isis Maternity offerings; referring and recommending products and services to students as appropriate.
  • Representing Isis Maternity in a professional, enthusiastic and caring manner.

Credentials & Requirements:

  • Certification in any yoga discipline. Prenatal coursework is required.
  • Current certification in CPR – adult and infant. This can be arranged and subsidized by Isis Maternity.
  • 1 to 2 years prior teaching experience preferred.
  • A flexible schedule and reliable transportation preferred.

Compensation is scaled so that instructors are paid depending on the number of students attending each class session.
