Amanda R.

Amanda R. wishes she could count herself as a Boston native, but in reality she grew up in Seattle and the St. Paul, MN area. Amanda brings her experiences in the fields of HIV/AIDS and Adolescent Health Education, as well as her background as a DONA-trained Birth Doula. Amanda earned her BA in Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York where she studied a wide range of disciplines from adolescent and child psychology to color photography. Amanda has a long-held interest in health and wellness, particularly as related to sexual and reproductive health, and she is passionate about supporting moms and families at Isis Maternity. As a new homeowner, Amanda’s most recent hobbies all revolve around painting, putting up shelving and assembling Swedish-made furniture. She is a lover of good food, good books, good movies and (secretly) all things pop culture. She will challenge anyone to a game of trivial pursuit 90’s edition, but most of all loves relaxing with her friends and family. Amanda and her partner, Mell, make their home in Somerville.

Lindsay M.

Lindsay is a native of Massachusetts, and has returned here after spending time on the West Coast and in Madrid. She comes from a large family, with lots of cousins so there was never a shortage of babies. This contributed to her lifelong interest not just in babies, but also in women’s health. She graduated from Scripps College in 1999 with a BA and an honors thesis in Psychology. In May of 2006 she completed an MPH in maternal and child health at Boston University, where her talents were aggressively recruited for Isis Maternity by both Jenny and A’Nova. Lindsay has co-authored papers published by Pediatrics, the Journal of Human Lactation and the Journal of Infant, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. She was most recently employed at The Breastfeeding Center at Boston Medical Center, and previously worked in the field of child/adolescent development. She is looking forward to transitioning from her analytic role as a researcher to a more interactive role directly helping women and children at Isis. Lindsay loves to travel and is an excellent cook and baker. She also enjoys crossword puzzles, hiking, running, and spending time with her family.

Zoe K.

Zoe has worked for nearly a decade running the admission offices of Boston’s top music programs at Berklee College of Music and, most recently, Boston University’s College of Fine Arts. A singer/songwriter herself, she loved working with young people who were pursuing their passion. With the birth of her daughter, Zoe’s new passion became clear as she fell in love with the power of birth and the important transition time for families and their newborn in the post-partum period. Zoe became an ALACE-trained birth doula and decided to dedicate her professional career to supporting expecting and new parents. She loves being with friends and family, yoga, and the ocean.
