Lee is the Retail Director of Isis Maternity. She brings over thirty years of experience as an analyst, business owner, midwife, childbirth educator, yoga instructor and mother. Lee received her BA from Boston College and completed the Greater Boston Executive Management Program at the MIT Sloan School of Management. The birth of her two children inspired Lee’s interest in the world of maternity and the pursuit of a new career path. She earned her midwifery certificates from the Massachusetts Midwives’ Alliance, attended births in the Boston area and traveled to El Paso, Texas to provide maternity services at a birth clinic on the Mexican border. Upon her return to Massachusetts, she started a consulting business offering private childbirth classes, prenatal nutrition consultations, group yoga classes and maternity products.
As a member of the Isis Maternity founding group, Lee started and developed the yoga program and retail business. Her expertise, and that of her team, has been recognized by numerous publications and media outlets: Best New Business by the Retail Association of Massachusetts; WBZTV.com A-List; Boston’s Favorite Maternity Shop by Boston Parents’ Paper; Retail Innovator Award by Kids Today.
Nancy created and oversees many of the prenatal and new parent programs at Isis Maternity and helped to brainstorm and shape Isis Maternity back when it was still an idea discussed in living rooms and coffee shops around town. Nancy has 20 years of clinical nursing experience: ten years at Boston’s Beth Israel Hospital and later as a mother/baby nurse educator and board certified lactation consultant. As founder of the Great Beginnings series, she has personally facilitated twelve years worth of programs for mothers and babies. She speaks and writes for a national audience about breastfeeding and infant development, and has served on the board of MLCA, the Massachusetts Lactation Consultants Association. She received a BS from Northeastern University College of Nursing, and a Certificate in Advanced Pediatric Assessment from Boston College. Nancy lives just outside Boston with her husband and children: a teenaged daughter and a ‘tween’-aged son.
