Laura D.

Laura is a certified early intervention specialist and has ten years of experience working for Cambridge-Somerville Early Intervention, conducting playgroups, home visits and developmental assessments. As a senior developmental specialist, she works with families who have children age birth to three years, with developmental delays, disabilities, or who are at risk for delay. In addition, she supervises some staff members and also oversees all aspects of playgroups as the group coordinator. Laura also has experience teaching in daycare/preschool, prior to coming to the early intervention field. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and Sociology from the University of Massachusetts at Boston, and a Master of Science degree in Child Development and Early Childhood Education, focusing on the birth to three years, from Wheelock College in Boston. Laura enjoys continuing to expand her knowledge and credentials, becoming certified to teach “Happiest Baby on the Block”, and will soon be a certified infant massage instructor. She also enjoys providing workshops on a variety of child development topics, to parents, daycare and preschool staff, and colleagues. Laura is very delighted to be a new member of the Isis Maternity team!
